Keywords: Neuro: Brain, Education Committee: Clinical MRI

This presentation describes the traumatic CNS injury and neuropsychiatric diseases that are routinely studied by MRI in a busy trauma hospital. CT is the standard of care for acute traumatic brain injury, but increasingly, MRI is being performed in certain patients. Patients with psychiatric symptoms or altered mental status may be challenging. Patient positioning and protocol modification in unstable or restless patients will also be discussed.
