OVERVIEW:
The first half of this session is devoted to the AMPC. The current chair will introduce how the sessions were planned and scheduled and how moderators and invited speakers are picked. To get another view, the past chair from 2023 will talk about her experience, the challenges and opportunities she faced during her time. The first half of the session will conclude with insights on the abstract review process and with tips on how one can improve your future abstracts.

The second part focuses on presenting the Society’s journals MRM and JMRI. This session highlights the role and the scope of the journals, a historical perspective and future goals. Furthermore, it aims to show what you should be aware of both as an author and as a reviewer.

The session concludes with a Q&A session where the AMPC and the academic editors will provide you with their insights and personal experience of the entire process.

The goal of this symposium is to help the attendees better understand the AMPC and the Society’s journals by providing them with knowledge from experienced members and key persons. Specifically, the session should give information on how the ISMRM works, the talk on abstracts intends to give future abstract submitters tips on how to improve their own work for future conferences and ultimately to increase their chances of acceptance. Finally, the presentation of the journals intends to encourage attendees to improve their work as authors as well as reviewers.

TARGET AUDIENCE:
Attendees of all stages in their career who want to improve their work as authors and reviewers and those who want to get in touch with the ISMRM.

AS A RESULT OF ATTENDING THIS COURSE, PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO:
- Understand the AMPC better and what challenges the ISMRM faces;
- Improve the quality of the submitted abstracts;
- Learn and understand the societies' journals' interests and goals; and
- Improve the quality of submitted work as authors but also as reviewers.
