Session Title
Science from GBT Large Surveys of the ISM and Star Formation
Session Type
Special Session
Room
210
Session Chair
Anika Schmiedeke
Summary
Several large science programs are using the Green Bank Telescope to study a plethora of physical properties, dynamics, and chemistry within the ISM and star-forming molecular clouds. These programs range from observations of the diffuse ionized ISM to studying the kinematics of dense molecular gas cores and cover frequencies from 300 MHz to 115 GHz, leveraging the full capabilities of the GBT. The goal of this special session is to bring together these science teams to highlight recent science results and to demonstrate the collective power of the surveys in addressing the complex physical processes and chemistry within the ISM associated with star formation within our Galaxy and nearby galaxies.
