Session Title
Lessons Learned from the Implementation of Inclusion Plan Pilots at NASA
Session Type
Special Session
Room
220
Session Chair
Kartik Sheth
Summary
This session aims to share the progress and lessons learned from NASA’s Inclusion Plan pilots in the Astrophysics and Earth Science Divisions with the community. After reviewing over 600 Inclusion Plans, we will share the implementation, evaluation, and progress of these Plans. We will share elements of good Inclusion Plans, discuss the criteria for assessment, and commonalities in the strengths and weaknesses of plans submitted during the pilot. We hope to also share examples of strong and weak inclusion plans and discuss how the community is responding with these plans to the recommendations for the State of the Profession in the Decadal Survey. The audience for this session is any current or future science and technology investigators who seek to advance inclusion in their existing teams or may be submitting proposals for funding to NASA. The session organizers are program scientists in charge of the Inclusion Plan effort in their respective divisions. We anticipate setting aside at least half an hour for questions and answers from the community and hope to carry forward the community’s feedback back to NASA.
